Born in 1965 in Geneva, Switzerland, Philippe Rahmy is a poet and a novelist. He studied the History of Arts and Egyptology in Paris, graduating from the University of Lausanne in Literature and Philosophy. He is currently based in Lausanne.

Philippe Rahmy is a founding member of the prominent French literary site remue.net, with is focused on promoting contemporary literature over the Internet and through live events. He is a published author in France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and China.

Phil Rahmy is also active as a photographer and as a director of award-winning independent short films produced in Switzerland. Philippe Rahmy suffers from Osteogenesis imperfecta¹¹ (brittle bones), and he is an active member of several handicap related associations.

He is also writing songs for the rock band « Gasoline ».

Phil Rahmy awarded the Prix Charmettes – Jean-Jacques Rousseau 2006. He was distinguished by the Pro Helvetia literary grant 2010.
